Two of us
The first evening was fifty people on a beach with a borrowed guitar. The second was the actual wedding, held at the same spot an hour before sunset because Meera had done the maths on the light and was correct about it.
Salt air, borrowed guitars and a first dance that ran until the tide came in.
Half the photographs from that weekend have sand in the foreground. We stopped fighting it by the second hour. What stayed with us was how few people looked at the camera all weekend — the mark of a party that did not need documenting to feel real.
